The Development of Thompsonville presented by Jim Malley

Join Enfield Historical Society member, Jim Malley, for a presentation on the development of Thompsonville. The presentation will trace the settlement of the neighborhood and expansion of the Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Company.  The program will also look at surrounding businesses, government officials, school officials, athletes, and military veterans in Thompsonville and how they were influenced by Italians from the 1920s to the present day.  Thompsonville memorabilia will be on display including “Connecticut School Registers” from the 1920s, maps and photographs.

This presentation is open to the public.  Anyone with an interest in Enfield history is welcome to attend.

The Enfield Historical Society is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that has preserved and shared Enfield’s history for more than 60 years.  New members are always needed and greatly appreciated.  Everyone is welcome.  You don’t need to be a historian or Enfield native to join.  Become a member today!
